YouTube is massive - bigger than TV - but it's stuck in web 1.0. On the Flame Learning channel, the videos are the stars of the show, yet they sit in a static list that we never visit. Instead we rely on playlists which are hard boundaries, like folders. Playlists hardwire in duplication, and there's no way around it. You're trying to learn, but now you're wondering if you've done this bit already. So instead, you're analyzing hundreds of videos, trying to find your place, which is impossible without a spreadsheet at the very least. The problem is that your work is in two places. Basically, you're goosed! Like when you try to run two versions of one batch setup, yes? Doesn't work.

Confused minds do nothing. Learning stalls. Progress zero. The fix is to flip YouTube's structure. Make the video list king. The result is that you 'get linear', you go in a straight line, with the finish line just up ahead.

The playlists still exist, all of them, every video in order. But now they are filters instead of hard boundaries. When you bump into something you've seen before, it's already filled out and marked as done. A pleasant reminder of progress made. In Connected Conform speak, the videos are now 'Shared Sources.'

These new soft boundaries are dynamic. You can now carve up YouTube any way you like. Keywords are your new friend. I am currently populating the database with 'FlameSpeak' tags, coming in beta 1.1. You can mix and match your playlists with total precision & zero loss of momentum. Watch anything, in any order. Align it with your clients' demands. Every move is forward.

It's a content management system. I built it because I need it. I chat to all my Flame notes with Notion AI. It can easily be turned into a visual gallery using the Flame Learning artwork but, since that would infringe Autodesk's copyright, I've kept this sample copy clean.

I'm in this for the long haul. I will be updating it constantly & adding new stuff. I am using the system right now for all of my Flame work, client requests, consolidating learning & producing a library of Flame User production-ready setups you might see from time to time on LinkedIn - they live in the progress grid on this website. My bet is that Flame will thrive by playing its 'integration' card - where it really shines - and since the world is filling up with GenAI, there is going to be a lot of integration work to do. This database can be a jumping-off point, the raw list, the scope of Flame work to do. You can get Notion for free, duplicate this database, and see if it works for you.
